How we started

All great things have a beginning. Often, when one sets out on something seemingly insignificant, it can end up being the stepping stone to a long and prosperous future. Our story is no different to the man who met a lady and started a conversation with her only to reflect back on the incident a few years later with a house full of children. My first encounter with, what would later become one of Digital Video Works services, was as a result of doing favors for people who needed their audio and video tapes converted to DVD. That was early in 2007 when I had no idea what I was getting myself into. At first, I had no intention or vision of starting a business but found myself increasingly busy at night doing favors for people. Until finally, I decided to start charging for it, hence laying down the foundation for an actual business.

After running with the idea of doing media conversions as a business service, someone asked me to do them the great favor of filming their wedding.Now I had some experience with film and video editing so I agreed. After that event I got more requests for both video and photos so I involved some more people in the business offering both services as a package deal. Needless to say, we had to buy in all sorts of new gadgets and learn along the way. Each time a demand came, we simply upskilled ourselves and delivered. We needed a website, so we did it ourselves. Since we did our website we decided to go ahead and do some other companies websites as well. Today we do everything from media conversions to banner designs and printing, videography, photography, web development and we always rise to the occasion if for some reason you want us to do something we haven’t yet done!
